Spacemen3 was formed in Rugby in 1982. They were the pioneers of the Shoegaze scene which blossomed in the U.K. during the 80’s.
Their music was characterized by fuzzy electric guitars and simple riffs and they used to take drugs to make music to take drugs to. Much of their lyrics are about documenting the drug experience.
